Our Curriculum

An International School Curriculum Where Challenging Questions Deepen Understanding

At Halcyon, we believe that collaboration sparks creativity. We are small-by-design, allowing for close-knit connections among teachers and students alike. Teachers collaborate closely in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring a cohesive and integrated educational experience. Students are encouraged to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and learn from one another, celebrating the diversity of perspectives within our classrooms. Innovation is at the heart of our teaching, with cutting-edge technology integrated into our curriculum. With a dedicated Digital Learning Coach on staff, we create bespoke virtual environments and utilise advanced tools like Canva and AI platforms such as DALL-E, preparing students for a digital future.

Our expert teachers harness the interdisciplinary potential of the IB, enabling students to understand, articulate and interrogate the often complex and interconnected nature of knowledge. Our students develop a deep comprehension of what they’ve learned, laying robust foundations for successful and fulfilling futures.

Your Wellbeing

Unique Perspectives Are Welcome Here

Wellbeing is fundamental to unlocking each student's unique potential. We create an environment where students feel safe to flourish as individuals, and they feel valued when they do. This is why our students can flourish academically. Our research-driven approach to wellbeing powers our growth-focused environment, built around shared values, not rules, mirroring top university and professional environments. Our Student Wellbeing Lead, a qualified restorative practitioner, sits on the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring that wellbeing is prioritised at the highest level. We co-create additional learning opportunities with our students, encouraging them to take responsibility for developing their broader interests. We provide personalised, research-informed mentoring, to every student, every week, every grade. This is why our students develop autonomy, resilience and their own sense of self. This is a character building education fit for the realities of the 21st century.
