Staff at Halcyon London International School

Join us and become a part of a community that values your wellbeing and professional development as much as the education of our students.

Our school mission, crucial for cultivating a high-performing culture, extends to both our staff and students. We provide a creative and professional space for our team to contribute and learn to their full potential.

Our emphasis on wellbeing is equally applicable to staff and students, fostering an environment where everyone feels recognised, nurtured, and empowered to face professional challenges and find fulfilment.

Ours is a collaborative culture where all are welcome.

A collaborative culture

Central to our organisation is our embrace of a collaborative, distributed model of leadership, prioritising meaningful learning impacts and professional growth. Subject teams operate with rotating shared leadership, ensuring everyone contributes, leads, and enjoys the challenge of driving school development.

Middle-leadership is fostered through our project programme, where staff lead time-limited research projects aimed at improving various aspects of our school culture, from student voice to staff wellbeing. These projects enhance leadership skills and contribute to Halcyon's innovation.

In our tenth year, we launched our Innovation Team, charged with maintaining our commitment to innovation, looking for new opportunities to innovate, and to identify and remove barriers to innovation.

Staff Learning Workshops

Every week, our staff engage in dedicated learning workshops, fostering reflection, idea sharing, and support for delivering improved learning experiences to students.

These workshops also serve as a platform for Project Leaders to update and collaborate on key portfolios, such as Student Voice and Sustainability.

During one workshop, teachers explored integrating sustainability into daily practice. Martyn Steiner, Sustainability Project Leader, initiated a 'staff leaderboard' to track sustainability actions, while Celeste Gardner introduced CAS/Service as Action concepts to teachers.

Staff Benefits and Perks

At our school, we believe in fostering a supportive and enriching environment for both our students and staff. As a not-for-profit institution, we reinvest our profits back into our community, ensuring that our commitment to the wellbeing of our employees is as strong as our dedication to our students' education.

Staff Facilities

At Halcyon, we value our staff's wellbeing and productivity, and our facilities reflect this commitment.

We strive to create an environment that supports our staff in every way, fostering both professional growth and personal well-being.
