IB PHE
Physical and Health Education (PHE) blends physical activity with theoretical study, offering students the chance to explore various sports while learning the essentials of a healthy lifestyle.
Through engaging activities, students enhance their teamwork, communication, and social responsibility skills, enriching their overall academic performance. Our small school thrives on flexibility, tailoring our sports programme to student passions. By integrating their ideas, we create engaging, enriching physical education courses that truly resonate with our students.
Middle Years Programme
PHE is taught as part of the MYP. It aims to empower students to understand and appreciate the value of being physically active and develop the motivation for making healthy life choices. To this end, physical and health education courses foster the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes that will contribute
to a student’s balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Through opportunities for active learning, courses in this subject group embody and promote the holistic nature of well-being. Students engaged in physical and health education will explore a variety of concepts that help foster an awareness of physical development and health perspectives, empowering them to make informed decisions and promoting positive social interaction.
Our Sports Programme
At Halcyon we also offer a programme of sports opportunities outside the PHE curriculum. Our sports programme is dedicated to providing students with both recreational and competitive sporting opportunities. Our aim is to nurture a community where participation in sports not only promotes physical well-being but also fosters healthy competition, challenges personal growth, and encourages a lifelong commitment to fitness.
