Bridge Scholar Bursary
The Bridge Scholar Bursary is broadening access to exceptional education.
Following the Department for Education's October 2025 decision to end funding for the International Baccalaureate Diploma in state schools—a move affecting nearly 5,000 students and the future of the IB in the UK—Halcyon introduced the Bridge Scholar Bursary, helping impacted students continue their IB education.
In an era of AI, climate change, and global interconnectedness, the IB develops exactly the competencies our world needs—critical thinking, communication, and cultural competence.
At Halcyon London International School, our mission is to provide an exceptional education that draws out the unique potential of each student. Our core values—innovation, collaboration, and community—drive us to ensure that transformative educational opportunities are not limited by economic circumstances.
As a not-for-profit institution, Halcyon reinvests its resources into educational provision rather than shareholder returns, positioning us to respond effectively to this crisis in educational equity.

The Halcyon Bridge Scholar Bursary is a long term commitment to equity and our way of guaranteeing that students from all backgrounds have access to a quality IB education.
By expanding access to our school, we are doing our small part to advance our shared mission with the IB, “to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through education."
