The Bridge Scholar Bursary is broadening access to exceptional education.

As a not-for-profit institution, we reinvest our resources into educational provision rather than shareholder returns. This positions us uniquely to respond to this crisis in educational equity.
Following the Department for Education's October 2025 decision to end funding for the International Baccalaureate Diploma in state schools—affecting nearly 5000 students and the fate of IB schools—Halcyon introduced the Bridge Scholar Bursary to support its affected students.
In an era of AI, climate change, and global interconnectedness, the IB develops exactly the competencies our world needs—critical thinking, communication, and cultural competence.
Making a Lasting Difference
The Halcyon Bridge Scholar Bursary is a long term commitment to equity and our way of guaranteeing that students from all backgrounds have access to a quality IB education. By providing access to our school for students who would otherwise be unable to attend, we are doing our small part to fulfill our own mission and the mission of the IB to “develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through education that builds intercultural understanding and respect.”
