Whether joining us from around the globe or right here in London, every family comes to Halcyon with their own timeline and background. Our admissions process is designed to meet that range, with three distinct admissions windows. We strongly encourage early applications when possible.

Admission Windows
These admission windows are for September 2027 entry. Applications for mid-year entry are welcome and considered on an ongoing basis.
Priority
Apply by 9 November and receive an Admissions decision by 11 December
Standard
Apply by 18 January and receive an Admissions decision by 12 February
Rolling
Apply after 18 January - offers subject to availability. Contact Admissions.
Priority Admissions Window
The Priority window is for families who want an early decision before the winter break with a place secured for the next school year in January. The £2,250 (+ VAT) development fee is waived for families who who enrol in the Priority window.
Our Priority applicants are the first to secure their place in an incoming cohort and help to shape the exceptional grade group we are building.
This window may be right for you if you want certainty before the new calendar year, are committed to an IB education, or simply prefer to step outside the 11+ timeline. It is especially well-suited to students entering Grade 6 (Year 7), though all grades are welcome to apply in this window.

Standard Admissions Window
The Standard window is for families who have used the autumn to explore their options and are ready to apply in the new year. Students admitted in this window join the cohort already taking shape from the Priority window.
This window may be right for you if you are ready to make Halcyon your choice in the new year. We encourage families who are serious about joining us not to wait beyond this point.

Rolling Admissions Window
For some families, the decision to move and to find a new school doesn't follow a predictable calendar. As a school built for internationally-minded families, we welcome applications on a rolling basis throughout the spring and summer subject to availability.
We recommend reaching out to the Admissions Team before submitting an application during this period to confirm current openings.
Applications for mid-year entry are welcome and considered on an ongoing basis subject to availability.

The families below reflect the kinds of journeys that bring students to us and the admissions window that tends to suit them best.
Priority
Planning ahead from London
A multinational long-term UK family has a daughter who has been educated within the British prep school system, but as secondary school approaches they find themselves looking for a school with a curriculum and community that matches their global mindset.
They first visit Halcyon at an Open House when their daughter is in Grade 4 (Year 5). By the start of Grade 5 (Year 6) they are ready: a taster day in October, an application submitted in November, and an offer and enrolment confirmed before the winter break. Their daughter's place is locked in and the grade group takes shape. They look forward to joining the Offered and Accepted Students Evening in March.
Standard
Relocating from Singapore
A family living in Singapore learns in December that they will relocate to London over the summer. Their son attends an IB international school and will enter Grade 9 (Year 10) in the new academic year.
They submit their application in the Standard window, attend a Virtual Open House, and receive their decision by February. Already planning to be in London, they join the in-person Offered and Accepted Students Evening meeting current Halcyon students, families committed from the Priority window and others still deciding. They enrol by 5 March.
Rolling
An unexpected move from the US
A family relocating from the US for a job in London's tech sector finalises their plans in April. Their two children attend an American curriculum school.
In May they set up a private virtual conversation with Admissions to confirm space in Grade 7 and Grade 11. They apply in May, complete their applications over two weeks, and receive a decision early June. They commit to enrol the very next day.
