The Law Society offers Grade 9-12 students a platform to explore the intricacies of the legal world. Halcyon is proud to host an active and passionate Model United Nations (MUN) team. Our young diplomats excel in analytical and debating skills, bringing awareness of global issues to prestigious international conferences like MUNISH (Model United Nations at the International School of The Hague). 

Our mixed-grade MUN team also organises Halcyon's annual student-led MUN Conference, handling everything from visitor invitations and resolution topics to welcoming guest speakers. This two-day event allows our students to debate and share knowledge with peers from local independent and state schools, embracing the challenges and responsibilities of hosting a major conference.MUNISH was a highlight, because it has a lot more delegates. Each week, students explore a different corner of London - one of the great cities of the world - and consider the built environment. Embracing Halcyon’s motto of ‘London as a Classroom’, students have the opportunity to soak up more of the capital’s historical abundance. Explore the city's fascinating stories, iconic landmarks and hidden gems, such as Little Venice, the 9/11 Memorial Garden and many others - while developing a deeper appreciation for its cultural heritage. These walks provide an engaging and educational way for students to connect with the heart of the city. 

The Horse Riding Programme provides a comprehensive introduction to equestrian skills, from basic riding techniques to horse care and stable management. Whether you're a novice or have riding experience, you'll receive personalised instruction in a supportive environment. Join us to build confidence, develop a deep bond with these magnificent animals, and enjoy the thrill of riding while fostering a respect for nature and the bond between humans and animals.

Residential Trips encourage our students to build their teamwork skills and nurture their bonds within their grade group. Previous residential trip locations have included the beautiful landscapes of Snowdonia and the Lake District – activities have included hiking and obstacle courses.

These week-long trips usually take place at the beginning of the year and are compulsory for all Grades, except Grade 12. They are a key element of Grade 6 transition to Halcyon. Residential Trips are organised in collaboration with Outward Bound and they provide students with a holistic and rewarding start to the academic year.

Discovery Days offer students an opportunity to spend days dedicated to exploring Fundamental British Values through history and culture. From visiting the London Aquarium to enjoying exhibitions at the Design Museum, our students have delved into history from a variety of perspectives. This is also an opportunity for our students to connect with one another – every grade group will visit a different part of the city, forming lasting memories together.

Halcyon's Languages Team regularly arranges trips to countries in which target languages, such as Spanish and Mandarin, are spoken. These trips offer students an unrivalled opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and culture that they are learning. They are the most enriching and comprehensive experience that we can present to our students to learn about global engagement, intercultural understanding, and multilingualism.

Our expert teachers use London as a classroom. Whether this be a new theatre production of a text students are studying, a sporting event recently covered in PHE, or a significant cultural event, our teachers regularly organise trips to enhance our students' learning and provide lasting cultural experiences.

Halcyon offers exciting international trips for students interested in deepening their knowledge about different cultures. Led by staff members who carefully curate activities for all interested students, our international trips are a unique opportunity. Recent destinations include Madagascar, China and Italy. Upcoming trips include the USA.
