Connected to university admissions offices around the world, our University and Careers Counselling Director brings specialist knowledge to Halcyon that creates college and career-ready global citizens.
Benefitting from a range of one-to-one and grade-level university counselling services, each learner is guided to make decisions and develop skills that unlock opportunities in higher education. Asil Al-Shammari is available to everyone in Halcyon’s small community, delivering individualised, comprehensive support to each student and their family.
Halcyon’s University Counselor was a treasure in guiding my child through the USA college application process. She suggested schools, offered essay advice, kept all the deadlines and details front and center, and worked together with the other teachers who, along with her, wrote his letters of recommendation. She made sure those letters combined to offer a rich portrait of my son. She understands that every part of a college application must work with every other part to tell the best story possible about who an applicant is, and why no Admissions Officer should let them get away. I believe Asil's contribution to my son's admission to his first choice school, a famous, highly-selective college, was indispensable. We are deeply grateful for her support, her quick intelligence, her empathy, her intuitive understanding of what my son wanted in a school, and her tireless guidance in helping him achieve his goals.
